"The Mog Champ sends his regards. I'm quite a simple existence to please especially when it comes to food, I've been to multiple different Hong Kong food establishments and Hong Kong Cafe Macquarie is quite similar to some of those. It's rare to see a Hong Kong Cafe in a larger shopping centre I feel like but here it is. They have the Hong Kong sort of decoration but the atmosphere doesn't really feel like it compared to other businesses. Must just be the location in general. Anyways, this isn't my first time here but have had the baked rice with pork chops cream corn sauce and a French toast to share for dessert! Service felt like it was longer than usual for your typical Hong Kong dishes to come out, I do admit it may have been a little busy at that time - the atmosphere itself is a little tight but it's what it is. Overall the food was pretty good and we were satisfied! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ"
"Hong Kong down under ! You cannot pass by this unique and attractive HK tram style restaurant. Its so appealing and interesting look. The foods are good and the HK style coffee complete a good meal. Enjoy HK foods & ambience right here without the travel hassles"
"Great authentic HK cafe food! Great tastes, and great ambiance! We ordered Seafood & Beancurd in Hot Pot, Curry Beef Briskets in Hot Pot, Braised Eggplant with Minced Pork, and Deep Fried Chicken Thigh with Potato Chips. All came in large portions. Don’t expect service to be great and seating to be comfy....but these are typical HK cafe style moments which enhanced our dining experience. Overall, very happy to come back again to try other food and beverage they have."
"A very busy spot — by the time we arrived it was already packed, with a queue forming outside. The vibe is classic Hong Kong, bustling and lively. The milk tea was outstanding, rich and smooth — definitely a highlight for me. The 油條, though, left me wishing for the crispier Malaysian style I’m used to. The soft 菠蘿包 came with generous slabs of butter, indulgent and satisfying. As for the congee with lean pork and century egg, it was comforting enough, though I would have preferred a stronger punch of century egg flavour…although extremely busy, staff was very helpful and courteous."
"Love their food and decor. It’s delicious and authentic. You have to try out their steamed rice rolls, pineapple bun, satay beef noodle soup, baked pork chop rice and many more."
"Lovely food and great package for dinner. 56$ you got vegetables, mix hotplate and salt pepper tofu. They close late after dinner time. Friendly staff"
"Stopped by Macquarie to visit hongkong cafe and had such a lovely time there. The service was attentive and food was amazing, reminded me of the foods i grew up eating. It’s so affordable and value for money, between two people we spent ~$80 and was able to order so much food! I’ve linked photos below. If you are one for good food, service and atmosphere that transports you to HK, then try these guys out!"
"order kway tiao and noodle soup, fast and friendly service. servings are huge but kway tiao is a bit dry and bland. price is reasonable. dined in at lunch time weekend and it was packed."
